Role summary
The focus of Aspective’s Business Intelligence and Data Management Practice is on solving difficult data problems within major organisations, primarily within the financial services and telecoms sectors. These companies have large amounts of data from many diverse sources and highly complex data integration and presentation needs. Furthermore there are significant regulatory pressures, primarily from Sarbanes-Oxley and the FSA, which are forcing these organisations to look again at how they manage and control the integration and processing of customer and transaction data. To solve these issues Aspective has built up a world class delivery capability and close relationships with key technology partners Ab Initio, Business Objects and Microsoft. A particular area of expertise is in the production of systems to support compliance initiatives within the insurance industry.
Aspective are seeking a highly experienced BI consultant for their business intelligence practice. Educated to degree level, applicants will have an in depth knowledge of Business Intelligence and data management theory, a demonstrable delivery record and a desire to define robust, innovative solutions to a clients data issues.

The role will include Pre-sales and strategic consulting engagements.
Essence of role
Principal Consultants within Aspective have a wide variety of roles from design authorities, to team leading and project management. They are responsible for providing technical leadership across a number of projects as well as providing a key link between the project team and the business.
They will lead teams of experienced and talented consultants.
The role also encompasses Pre-sales and strategic consulting opportunities.

Role dimension
Financial:
- Ability to manage the delivery of projects of values £50k to £750k
Non-financial (customers/staff etc):
- Team Leading responsibilities
- Commercial responsibilities for Change requests and similar.
Typical outputs
- Project Deliverables – Designs, scoping documents etc
- Presentations/workshops with clients
- Support of sales staff through client visits, proposal generation and estimation
Competency / Performance Driver
- 5 years of Data Warehousing/Integration experience
- Demonstrates proficiency in understanding system concepts and tools.
- Demonstrates proficiency of delivery methodologies.
- Commercial Awareness
- Can demonstrate taking personal ownership.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Work cooperatively (rather than competitively) with others to achieve a common goal.
- Ability to relate well to all kinds of people
Technical/Professional expertise
- Educated to degree level
- Lead design Authority on at least 1 major programme of work
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of BI and ETL technologies
- Knowledge of Ab Initio advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate consulting based background
