Role summary

Providing technical and delivery expertise to the Field Service Management Consultancy Delivery Team. It is an opportunity for gifted individuals to use their proven programming skills within FSM Consultancy.
Essence of role

To carry out project engagements, delivering against customer requirements and expectations.
The individual should be completely competent and self-sufficient in the development and configuration of given pieces of work to tight timescales and with a minimum of supervision.
The individual may have involvement throughout the whole project life cycle, e.g. participating in design workshops, constructing solution designs, programming, configuration, testing, assisting with test planning, UAT support, etc. However principally the individual will be needed to carry out the following tasks:
- Programming and/or configuration as assigned.
- Participate in the production of technical documentation for assigned projects.
- Use appropriate operating systems, hardware, tools.
- Use configuration management tools/procedures to ensure consistent monitoring/documenting of baselines for formal test and delivery.
- Assist in monitoring/documenting the reporting, investigation and outcome of all defects and problems reported.
- Succinct and relevant communication to relevant management and team lead staff
Role dimension

- Projects may vary from under 100 to over 1000 man days
- Projects may be based in the Staines office or on customer site for some/all of the time
Typical outputs

- Install and configure mBusiness applications including customisation codes and/or setting up configuration data in accordance with the agreed standards
- Write database level functions and procedures in accordance with the agreed standards
- Tested code/ bug solutions

Technical/Professional expertise

- Experience of programming in Java, C#, and/or .NET
- An understanding of project lifecycle and applicable software engineering concepts
- Educated to Degree Level
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience of the following would also be an advantage:
- Experience in using SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, XML
- Exposure to differing project methodologies (Waterfall, DSDM, etc.)
- Experience in a Consultancy environment
- Knowledge of delivery involving Viryanet, Dexterra/Concert, and/or Click applications
- Other Mobility Applications or scheduling packages
