Aspective Locks Up Contract With Securicor Justice Services

Mobile Workforce Management solution optimises work scheduling and process compliance

Aspective, Europe's leading eBusiness solution provider, today announced that it has won a five-year contract to implement and manage a Mobile Workforce Management solution for Securicor Justice Services, part of Group 4 Securicor plc. Aspective's solution has initially been licensed for Securicor's officers who manage the installation of electronic tagging equipment and execute the monitoring and violation requirements for participants on electronic monitoring curfews. The new Mobile Workforce Management system will improve the efficiency of field operations and ensure strict processes are adhered to.

Since 1999 there have been almost 200,000 participants on home curfew in England and Wales as part of a bail condition, community sentence or release on Licence. Securicor is the second largest provider of monitoring services in the world and has recently secured new contracts which expand its operations in the UK.

Securicor chose the Aspective Mobile Workforce Management solution, based on ViryaNet Service Hub software, for it's ability to meet the need for schedule optimisation, process automation and mobile data in a single source package; and Aspective's solutions orientated approach and track record in successfully implementing similar systems.

"Using the Aspective solution, we will enhance our existing operational capabilities by improving the workflow management for our field officers," said Paul Moonan, Director, Securicor Justice Services – Electronic Monitoring.

Securicor's new system will automate the job schedules of Securicor officers, based on priority and other criteria. Officers will automatically receive job instructions on a PDA via GPRS communications, and will be led through a sequence of information capture according to circumstances. Minimal text entry is needed on the PDA as officers can add further reports through a web portal at a later time.

"Securicor is implementing a sophisticated workforce management system, for which real-time scheduling is vital to meet the needs of a high volume and dynamic workload," said Javaid Aziz, CEO, Aspective, "and this will need to take into account some unusual complexities of the Securicor business."

David Jones, Securicor Project Manager, explained: "Aspective made our decision easy by giving us the highest level of confidence that the Service Hub system will meet our operational objectives and can be implemented within our tight timescales. The first phase of the project, to include GPS tracking and in-car navigation, must be ready for rollout in just eight weeks."

Phase one of the project has begun and will be completed in February 2005.
